The yellow lantern travels over long distances and across galaxies from one end of the universe to the other. Busy as he may be Sinestro decides to take the scenic route instead of the more practical and quick one; it’s been a rather long time since they met face to face and in fact, he doubts Laira even remembers their last run in with each other. One that ended with her murdered by himself after attacking Jordan, who he himself wanted him dead at the time as well. Easily dodging astroids and stars, he slows down once reaching sector 112.

To be quite honest, he never took much joy in killing the woman but he partially did it to further hurt Jordan at the time. It’s why he made it quick and painless for her, Laira is actually one of the few Green Lanterns he enjoyed working with who never gave him a splitting headache or annoyed him to high heaven when he was in the Corps.

And now he is here in her sector purposely seeking her out. Coming to a stop, the Korugarian scans the area before him for the familiar emerald glow. He knows she rarely returns to Oa, the princess dislikes the Guardians as much as he does.

Laira frowns at the alert resounding in her mind from her ring. It had been quite some time since a Sinestro Corps member had ventured into her sector. In fact, she had not been in confrontation with one since her reinstatement into the Corps. That had been quite a number of months ago.

It’s easy enough to leave from her home, leaving Commander Antomokei with the order to remain on alert during her absence. She’s flown the asteroid belt that encircles her planet far more times than she can recall and the flight has become little more than second nature. The excitement that had once pulsed through her during her earlier years within the Corps was nothing but a dull thrum now.

She sees the other Lantern as she comes around one of Jayd’s moons and draws in closer, eyes locked and mind alert. Laira draws up short when she can make out the features of the intruder’s face. He was the last individual she had been expecting to see.

“Sinestro.”

It doesn’t take long to spot her, of course she would be making rounds and patrolling her world. Her homeworld would always be her top priority when it came to preserving life within her sector, it reminds Sinestro of himself actually. He would do anything to protect his world. Anything. Crossing his arms as the Green Lantern approaches in an indication that he is not here to fight, he speaks.

“Laira, it has been quite some time,” tilting his head, his eyes sweep her body, “you have recovered well from the incident on Ysmault.”
